The last MoH recipient from World War II passed yesterday 29JUN2022. He was an incredible man.
Woody Williams was born in 1923, he lost his father at 11, he dropped out of school early and grew up in depression era West Virginia. He stood only 5'6", thus too short to be a Marine. Woody on paper didn’t seem like much of a Marine on paper but he was determined, in part because he didn’t like the Army uniform…
