When I thought I’d have a normal life, I looked like the dude in the picture above. I’m about 30 years old and living in Crystal Lake, Illinois. I was probably working at Travelers Bond and Surety back then. Boy! was that a mismatch on my and Travelers' part; but that’s another story.

I have a Rollback Walmart sticker so I must have spent a moment or three with the greeter, which remains on brand for me.

I LOVED that Nike pullover…I’ve not bought a Nike product in? 15 years?

I’m also wearing a Turkey Trot shirt. I used to be able to run, fast. Every year, I’d enter a local Turkey Trot and bring my dog Rodney with me. I’d take my race shirt and put it on him and tie a little knot in the shirt to make it fit his waste. Rodney was a star. Along the trot route was a house that always had mimosas flowing…The family was on the lawn and greeted us trotters.

Each year, and it was maybe three years total, I’d stop for a quick mimosa or pound a beer; mid race. I never knew the family’s name, but it suited all of us that I stopped. Nobody ever took the family up on the offer of a drink, at least not while I was on their lawn. Regardless, we always…
