Every year on my birthday, I write a little something to check in and express my gratitude for everyone’s support and love. Today’s been a bittersweet day. Turning 51 is fine…I’m fortunate to have so many people I love and cherish share a message, a thoughtful note, or a quick interlude throughout the day. I’m also fulfilled from my profession recording incredible life-enriching interviews on the Break It Down Show.

A neighbor and friend, Mark Waters, died this AM from COVID 19, he had been in the ICU for weeks with a grim outlook. Though he was in his 50’s and should have easily survived…he didn’t. Since December, his odds of surviving were long…but, every day, every breath meant he had hope.

In the end, it was too much…and we lost a really cool dude and a person who touched many lives. My heart aches for his wife and young son. Love your people…keep them close go enjoy life. Mark was alive and had a future less than a month ago…and today he’s gone.
